Con el calor apretando a base de bien llega el tiempo de empezar a escuchar candidatas a “la canción del verano”. Sin embargo, antes de entrar a debatir sobre la calidad (o ausencia de ésta) en las mismas, hoy traigo una canción que me trae sensaciones y recuerdos de vivencias en estas fechas…

El tema está incluido dentro de Some Nights (2011), segundo disco de la banda norteamericana fun. (en minúscula y con punto final), del que fue el primer single y cuenta con la colaboración de la cantante Janelle Monáe. Aunque probablemente parte de la fama de esta canción les viene al ser versionada en Glee, esa serie americana que es todo un fenómeno en USA, el pasado diciembre. A partir de ahí el tema se convirtió en todo un exitazo y la música formaba parte de un anuncio de Chevrolet durante la pasada Super Bowl y que ya hemos visto en nuestro país.

Sinceramente se me hace difícil saber si la canción me gusta más por lo pegadizo de su estribillo, todo un pelotazo destinado a convertirse en una especie de himno, o por su letra, que habla de errores, del arrepentimiento y de querer arreglar las cosas, todo bajo un halo de optimismo. Eso sí, tras rodar el videoclip seguro que se quedaron mucho más tranquilos o, al menos, relajados…

Y como no quiero que el post se a más largo de lo debido termino con la letra, su traducción al castellano y varias versiones en directo. El primer video corresponde a una versión en acústico del tema, el segundo grabado para las iHeartRadio Live Series y la tercera corresponde a la actuación del grupo en los recientes MTV Movie Awards 2012.
